Board Will Accept Applications To Fill Vacancy

(July 23, 2019) Board President John Montgomery submitted his resignation from the Allen ISD Board of Trustees on July 23.

Montgomery announced in a letter to the Board that additional work assignments would not allow him to fulfill his school board responsibilities.

“My commitment to my family and employer takes priority and Allen ISD deserves nothing less than a full commitment to serve as a Trustee,” said Montgomery. “I wish nothing but the very best for Allen ISD in the future and look forward to supporting as a citizen of the Allen community.”

The Board accepted the resignation and appointed new officers for the remainder of the 2019-2020 term.  The current vice-president, Amy Gnadt will serve as board president. Kelley Rowley will serve as vice-president and David Noll will assume the role of board secretary.

Montgomery was first elected to the board in May 2015. He was re-elected to a second 3-year term in May 2018.

“John’s extensive corporate experience has been an asset since he joined the board over four  years ago,” explained new Board President Amy Gnadt. “We appreciate the time he has given to Allen ISD and the heart he has shown for our students and staff.”

Mrs. Gnadt announced that the Board will be accepting applications to fill the vacant seat on the board.  The appointed board member’s term will run until May 2020. The individual would then need to file and run for election in May 2020 and again in May 2021 to complete the remainder of Montgomery’s term.
