Kevin Cameron has been appointed to the Allen ISD Board of Trustees for the remainder of the 2019-2020 board term. The Board of Trustees approved the appointment at its August 26 meeting after accepting and reviewing applications earlier in the month.
Cameron will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of John Montgomery, who resigned in July due to work scheduling conflicts. Cameron will fill the board vacancy until the next board election, which will be held in May 2020. If elected, he would fill out the remainder of Montgomery’s term of office, which ends in May 2021.
Cameron and his wife Shelley have lived in Allen for the past 20 years. They have three sons who are seniors at Allen High School and an eighth grade daughter.
He has been the IT Project Director for the City of Allen since 2012 and previously held technology positions with JC Penney, Yahoo, Inc. and CSX Lines, LLC. He is a 1994 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Business Administration in Business Analysis.
He has served in a number of volunteer roles in Allen ISD including Marion Elementary School PTA President, a Council of PTA Legislative Chair, the Marion School WatchDOGS Coordinator, a member of the 2014 Project Kids and a graduate of the Allen ISD Leadership Allen Academy in May 2019.
“As the parent of four students, I have seen the many changes, challenges, and improvements the district has experienced in the last 10 years,” said Cameron. “I am excited about the SOAR2030 initiative and would like to play a key role in mapping the future of Allen ISD in a way that adds to an already exceptional district.”
