Jill Stafford Named Regional Principal of the Year

A headshot of Jill Stafford, the Lowery Freshman Center principal Jill Stafford, Principal of Lowery Freshman Center in Allen ISD, has been selected to represent the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as a Region 10 Outstanding Principal of the Year. TASSP recognizes outstanding principals and assistant principals from the 20 regional Education Service Centers in the state. School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions. Nominations are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership.  As a region winner, Stafford is eligible to compete for the state title of Texas Principal of the Year.
 
“Jill Stafford is someone who leads by example and strives to best support her students, so it is no surprise that she has been honored as Principal of the Year,” Robin Bullock, Allen ISD Deputy Superintendent said. “Every student in Allen ISD will attend the freshman center, and Ms. Stafford is a steady presence who helps these students make the important transition into high school.”
 
Jill has been the principal of Lowery Freshman Center for the past seven years. She also served as a house and associate principal at Allen High School, and she has 27 total years of experience in education.
 
Each of the region winners will be recognized during the Josten’s Night of the Stars Awards Dinner on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at the Hilton Anatole Dallas Hotel.  Each will be presented with an award and recognized in a commemorative book entitled Texas Principals, Texas Heroes.  The TASSP Summer Workshop will be held June 10-12, 2020, at the Hilton Anatole Dallas Hotel.
