Allen ISD and FastDoc Urgent Care Partner for Priority COVID-19 Testing for Students and Staff

Allen ISD has partnered with FastDoc Urgent Care to provide priority COVID-19 nasal-swab testing for Allen ISD students and staff. This opportunity to receive an antigen test is available to students and staff with no out-of-pocket expense that will be billed through insurance. FastDoc will offer a low-cost test for individuals without insurance. Allen ISD has previously partnered with FastDoc to host community-wide COVID-19 vaccination clinics at Ford Middle School.

FastDoc Urgent Care is located at 325 Central Expy S, Allen, TX 75013, just southeast of the McDermott Dr. and US-75 intersection. Priority walk-in times will be from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. seven days a week. Students and staff are encouraged to bring their Allen ISD student/employee ID (if they have one issued) and proof of insurance with them to their appointment.

“We are fortunate to have several community partnerships in Allen, and we look forward to working with Jurry Van Ark and FastDoc Urgent Care to provide priority testing for our students and staff” said Dr. Robin Bullock, Allen ISD Superintendent.

The priority testing clinic at FastDoc is available to all students and staff who believe they have COVID-19 symptoms or have been exposed to the virus. Students and staff may continue to utilize other healthcare providers to administer PCR or antigen COVID-19 tests.

Allen ISD originally ordered COVID-19 RapidTests from the Texas Education Agency on August 19, 2021 utilizing state funds, and a partial order was received on Sept. 24. These tests will be used in conjunction with the FastDoc partnership. Allen ISD appreciates FastDoc’s willingness to quickly form a partnership to support the students and staff in this district. Allen ISD is now in the process of researching state-approved vendors that can perform onsite COVID-19 testing, and more information about this opportunity will be communicated when finalized.

In accordance with Allen ISD’s health and safety measures, an individual who receives a positive lab-confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 may discontinue isolation under the following conditions:

  • at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset, and
  • at least 24 hours have passed since resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications, and
  • other symptoms have improved.
