Allen ISD Names Chief Financial Officer and Anderson Principal

Dec. 13, 2021

Allen ISD announced the hiring of a Chief Financial Officer and a campus principal at the December 13 Board of Trustees Meeting. Brian Carter was named as the CFO, and Whitney Coppinger was named the Anderson Elementary Principal.

Brian Carter, Chief Financial Officer

Brian currently serves as the CFO of Northwest ISD. He will join the district in January and lead Allen ISD’s Finance Department, which includes supervision of the district budget, bond financing, accounting, payroll, and purchasing. He will also oversee the Technology Department.

“I am excited to welcome Brian to the Allen ISD team,” said Dr. Robin Bullock, Superintendent of Schools. “Brian is highly respected throughout the state and brings a reputation for being a thoughtful leader with a keen financial eye.”

Brian has a total of 24 years of experience in public school finance. Prior to Northwest ISD, Brian served as the CFO for Kaufman ISD and as a Financial Data Analyst for the Region 10 Educational Service Center in Richardson.

“I feel very fortunate to join an exemplary district like Allen ISD,” Brian said. “I look forward to working with our administrators and campus leaders to provide a commonsense approach to the district’s finances that benefit our students, campuses, departments, and community members.”

Brian earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas A&M University. Brian and his wife Rhonda, who works for Northwest ISD, have two sons: Haden and Jack. Haden is an electrical engineering major at the University of North Texas, and Jack is a freshman in high school.

Whitney Coppinger, Anderson Elementary Principal

Whitney’s education career spans 13 years, with a majority of her career spent at the elementary level as a teacher and instructional coach. She served as the Associate Principal at Crandall High School in Crandall ISD, before joining Allen High School as a House Principal last year.

Whitey earned her bachelor’s degree from Concordia University and her master’s degree from Lamar University. She said she enjoyed her time at the secondary level but is excited about returning to the elementary level and joining the Anderson team.
