Portrait Will Feature in Capitol Display

Horse portrait with artist

Allen High School Junior Isabella Vinas' drawing of her horse, Valentino, is headed to Washington, D.C., after winning first place in the 2022 Congressional Art Competition for Texas' 3rd District.

"Valentino" will be on display for one year in the U.S. Capitol. Isabella is also invited to a special awards ceremony to see her artwork at the Capitol. She is a student in Kristy Thurman's drawing class.

“Collin County is home to countless young leaders who choose to give of their time and talent by participating annually in the Congressional Art Competition,” said Third District Congressman Van Taylor. “This year's impressive submissions serve to remind us of how the arts promote expression and creativity while bringing our community together.”
