Important Back to School Information

Dear Lowery Students & Parents, 

We are excited to start the 2020-2021 school year and begin the process of welcoming you into  the Lowery family. To kick off the year, we will distribute student IDs, textbooks for specific courses and technology on August 10th & 11th. 

Allen ISD embraces a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) model which allows students to bring a personally owned device to school for the purpose of learning.  One of our district virus mitigation strategies is for students to use the same device for the entire school year.  Students who have a personal device available (i.e. laptop, Chromebook, etc.) for their individual use will be asked to use that for the entire school year, including bringing it with them if they chose in-person (on-campus) learning.  Allen ISD sent information about technology access and needs a few days ago.  Students/families were  asked to fill out the information on this form to request a device. Students who have submitted their information for a requested device will have one ready for pick-up during distribution.

If you selected on the district form that you had technology available, but it is not transportable to campus, you may resubmit your request on this form. Please note, we are not a 1:1 district and therefore do not have enough laptops and Chromebooks to issue one for each student. We ask that if a student has access to a device that can be used for remote learning, they do not request an additional device.

PICK-UP DETAILS:

August 10th        8 a.m. - 12 p.m. &  1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

August 11th        8 a.m. - 12 p.m. &  1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

To expedite your pick-up process, please be prepared to scan a QR code and fill out a short form that will allow our  distribution team to locate the necessary materials and deliver them to your car.  Please help us maintain social distancing by remaining in your car during the pick up process.  Once you have picked up your materials (ID, books, etc.) you will be directed to the device distribution area (if you have filled out the District Commitment Form) to acquire your device.   If you do NOT need a device, you may exit via Main St. or Jupiter as illustrated in the map below. 

If you have forgotten your password and/or need to reset it, visit portal.allenisd.org and click “Student and Staff Password Reset.” 

Please see the map below for the traffic flow to pick up items: All traffic will enter from Pebblebrook across from the church parking lot.  Once you have picked up your items from the blue line you will follow the yellow arrow if you have requested technology.  If no technology is required, you may follow the blue arrows to exit campus.
