Following a 31-year career in public education, Dr. Robin Bullock has announced her retirement as Superintendent of Allen ISD at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
Dr. Bullock started in Allen ISD in 2013 as an Assistant Superintendent, and she was named Superintendent of Schools in January 2020. During her tenure, Allen ISD was named the Best District in Collin County and the 6th Best District in Texas by Niche.com, earned an “A” accountability rating from the Texas Education Agency, and won School Board of the Year in 2022 and Large School District Finalist in 2024 by the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards. In 2020 and 2024, Dr. Bullock oversaw two successful bond elections in which the community approved more than $656 million in bond proposals to help create modern, safe learning environments for students and staff.
“Allen is a premier community in the State of Texas, and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to serve this school district for the past 13 years,” Dr. Bullock said. “As I reflect on my time in Allen ISD, I’ll always cherish the moments celebrating our wonderful students, the relationships built with teachers and staff, the collaboration with our community, and the work of our committed School Board and cabinet leadership team. Allen ISD is a wonderful school district because of our collective commitment to excellence shared by every Allen Eagle.”
Dr. Bullock’s career began as a classroom teacher in 1995 with stops in Red Oak ISD, Duncanville ISD, Midlothian ISD, and in Alabama. Her campus leadership experience includes stints as an assistant principal, elementary school principal, and middle school principal. Dr. Bullock’s district administration experience involved leadership for human resources, school leadership, and student services departments.
During her time as Allen ISD Superintendent, Dr. Bullock remained focused on academic success for students, community engagement, and partnerships between schools and business leaders. Since 2020, Allen ISD launched an internal data dashboard that provides staff members with tools to monitor student progress. The district also expanded community connections through initiatives such as the Silver Eagles Club, which engages residents aged 55 and over. In addition, Allen ISD partnered with CUTX to build the first student-run bank branch in Texas inside Allen High School, and the district worked with local industries to provide hundreds of students with behind-the-scenes tours during Manufacturing Day.
The Allen ISD Board of Trustees will receive information from Dr. Bullock on her intent to retire at its January 20th regular meeting. The Board of Trustees will then begin the process of developing a timeline to identify potential superintendent candidates.
“I appreciate the trust placed in me by current and former Trustees throughout the past six years,” Dr. Bullock said. “Our School Board Trustees remain focused on what is best for Allen ISD students and staff, and I am confident the next superintendent they choose will continue to build upon the success that Allen ISD is recognized for across Texas. I look forward to finishing out this school year and supporting a smooth leadership transition.”
Allen ISD will keep the community informed as the search for a new superintendent begins.
