Allen ISD previously launched the Empower 1:1 Student Mobile Device program in 2022, a product of the 2020 bond project, designed to prepare students for their future by providing digital technology to every student.
All students who check out a school-issued device are required to sign the Allen ISD Responsible Use Policy and to purchase device insurance through SchoolPay. The annual device insurance costs $30 and will cover any kind of device malfunction, repairs, and replacement parts stemming from unintentional damage. The device insurance fee does not cover intentional damage, loss of device, or peripherals as informed in the back-to-school forms. 3rd Grade - 6th Grade Only
It is highly advised to purchase device insurance even if you opt to not take home the device. Device insurance will cover the cost of any damage that occurs to the device. Students are responsible for damages to their device.

Student devices will remain on campus over the summer unless parents opt-in to take them home.
To opt-in to take a device home for the summer families must complete the Google Form to take home the device and pay the $30 insurance fee.
Insurance coverage is August 2024 - July 2025. If a student pays insurance in May 2025, coverage will run through July 2025. They will need to pay insurance fees again in August 2025.
Families must complete the Empower 1:1 Device Summer 2025 Opt-in Form (Grades 2-8) to take home the device.
24-25 Insurance fee ($30) must be paid and form completed for the device to go home for summer. Device Insurance
