Allen High School’s Overclock robotics team is gearing up for the global stage after being featured in a recent interview with WFAA reporter Tiffany Liou.
The segment highlighted the team’s journey to the prestigious FIRST Championship and offered insight into their preparation, innovation, and teamwork.
Students from the Allen ISD STEAM Center discussed their robot design, qualifying competitions, and expectations heading into the championship.
Team members interviewed included Danielle Hwang, Tito Magaña, Vedant Mohapatra, Caleb Clark, Johnathan Luu, and Marco Parada.
The Overclock team will begin competition on April 29 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, where they will join top teams from around the world.
The FIRST Championship, presented by BAE Systems, serves as the culminating event of the robotics season and celebrates student achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Overclock is coached by STEAM instructors Greg Burnham and Graham Gadd, who have supported the team throughout their successful season.
The competition will be streamed live and can be viewed online at the official FIRST website.
