The STEAM Center recently began welcoming back Pre-K through eighth grade students for hands-on learning adventures for the 2026-2027 school year. Each day brings a new grade level from a different campus to explore the state-of-the-art facility. Story Elementary sixth graders kicked off the exciting rotation as the first group of the school year.
Students participated in a dynamic lineup of interactive lessons during their visit. They analyzed local biodiversity with an outdoor grid inventory and created nature art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. In the tech labs, students coded drones through a Candyland challenge and built custom light structures using SAM Labs.
They also tackled engineering concepts by building complex Rube Goldberg chain reaction devices. These daily campus visits give every Pre-K through eighth grade student direct access to modern learning tools. Students collaborate with peers to solve real-world problems and develop key critical thinking skills.
These memorable field trips showcase the remarkable educational opportunities available throughout Allen ISD. Every visit highlights District innovation and inspires students to reach their full potential.
