Dallena Nash Recognized for Innovative Project-Based Learning 

At Vaughan Elementary, 4th Grade GATE teacher Dallena Nash was honored for her creative integration of Project-Based Learning to foster student ownership and engagement. Through a Geocaching activity combining Map Skills and Celebrate Freedom Week, she inspired critical thinking, collaboration, and exploration among her students. Her efforts encouraged cross-class collaboration and embodied Empowered Learning by helping students grow through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

Courtney Dumois & Ereen Fahmi Recognized for Empowering Student Growth 

At Marion Elementary, Resource Teacher Courtney Dumois and Teaching Assistant Ereen Fahmi were recognized for their exceptional support of K-2 students through personalized and inclusive learning strategies.  

 

Their calm, patient approach and intentional use of visuals, clear communication, and structured systems create an environment where every child can thrive. Their efforts reflect Empowered Learning in action, helping students grow socially, emotionally, and academically while fostering independence and confidence.
