Allen ISD Holds 2023 Convocation Ceremony

Allen ISD recently held its 2023 Convocation ceremony at Allen High School with staff, board members, students, and families in attendance.

This year’s theme for Convocation was We Go Together, symbolizing that the district is not a collection of individual schools, but a unified team with a singular goal.

“Successes that occur at high school are a collaborative effort that begin in prekindergarten and continue throughout a child’s educational career,” said Superintendent Dr. Robin Bullock. “The ultimate success of our school district begins the day that little Pre-K or kindergartner walks through our doors, and it doesn’t stop until they cross the stage at graduation."

Convocation included performances by the AHS band, Tallenettes, Cheerleaders, Colorguard, and solo performances from Jason Torres (AHS), who sang the National Anthem, and Hannah Horton (AHS), who sang a rendition of Hopelessly Devoted. A special thanks to the Pure Movement Dance Studio in Allen for performing as well.

Logan Whisenhunt, Senior Class President at AHS, helped emcee the event.

Convocation is a special time for the district because it is the only day of the year where every staff member comes together under the same roof.

"The Board appreciates everyone’s commitment to our students. And in return, we will remain committed to them,” said Sarah Mitchell, Board President. “The Trustees are focused on supporting the students and staff in the best school district in the state of Texas.”

Thank you to H-E-B and CUTX for generously providing gifts for our staff.

We wish our Allen ISD family the very best year! In Allen ISD, “We Go Together.”
