Allen ISD recently celebrated the 2025 Hall of Honor Class with a banquet at Allen High School. The ceremony recognizes individual athletes as well as teams for their outstanding achievements and impact on Allen’s athletic history.
The 2015 Men’s Wrestling State Championship Team was honored for securing Allen’s sixth consecutive state title with 199 team points. Led by head coach Jerry Best and assistant coaches Matt Yeamans, Jerrett McCollom, and Todd Wyckoff, the team featured standout performances by Garrett Miller, Dalton Miller, Braeden Redlin, and Juwan Robinson. Additional top performers included Logan Brown, Daniel Cartagena, Patrick Bryan, Evan Hackett, and Dalton Madole.
Ophir Bernstein, a 2011 graduate, was inducted for his accomplishments in wrestling. He was a Texas state champion and USA Wrestling All-American, finishing his senior year undefeated. At Brown University, he set career records in wins and falls and earned international medals at the FILA and University World Championships. He now lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, Vrunda.
Nate Bonsu, a 2009 graduate, was recognized for his contributions to football, powerlifting, and track. As captain of the 2008 State Championship football team, he helped secure Allen’s first state title. He went on to play at the University of Colorado Boulder, graduating with degrees in Political Science and International Affairs. He has worked as a chef and entrepreneur and currently holds a leadership role in the food and beverage industry.
Epley Bullock Hamilton, who attended Allen from 2003 to 2006, set the school high jump record and became a multi-time state finalist. She later became a six-time All-American and record holder at the University of Nebraska. Epley now teaches Business and Computer Science to students in grades 7 through 12.
Myron Fisher, a 2014 graduate, led the basketball team to its first State Tournament appearance in 31 years. He continued his career at Southwestern College, where he earned multiple academic and athletic honors.
Uzoma Nwachukwu, a member of the 2008 State Championship football team, finished his high school career with more than 1,000 receiving yards and multiple touchdowns. He went on to play at Texas A&M, becoming one of just four Aggies with more than 120 catches, 1,500 yards, and 10 touchdowns. He later signed with several NFL teams, including the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys.
