Allen ISD has announced James Rees as the Director of Bands for Allen High School.
Rees comes to Allen from Grapevine High School, where he has served as the Band Director since 2019. He’s also served as the Associate Band Director at Lake Highlands High School and Evans Middle School in McKinney.
“We are thrilled to welcome James to the Allen Eagle family,” said Carrie Jackson, Allen High School Principal. “To say that James has a passion for music is an understatement. What’s more impressive, however, is his passion for teaching students how to excel in a top-tier band program. His organizational skills and ability to build a student-centered culture with high expectations are what convinced us that he’s the right person to lead the Biggest Band in the Land.”
Rees holds a master’s from SMU in music education and two bachelor’s from Texas Tech in music performance and music education. His accomplishments include Mark of Excellence National Winner awards and unanimous first division ratings in UIL concert and sight-reading evaluations and marching evaluations.
Allen is excited to welcome James Rees to the Allen Eagle family this summer to kick off band summer camp.
