The Allen ISD Board of Trustees recognized outstanding student, staff, and community accomplishments at the April 2025 board meeting. Honorees included state champions, national competitors, award-winning academic teams, and participants in district and state recognition programs.
Boys Wrestling Wins 15th State Title; Girls Finish Fifth
The board recognized the Allen High School boys and girls wrestling teams for their success at the UIL 6A State Championships. The boys team reclaimed the state title on February 15, scoring 159 points—one ahead of Arlington Martin—to secure the program’s 15th state championship. The girls team finished fifth at the state tournament in Cypress.

Ereckson Math & Science Team Excels at State Competitions
The board recognized students from Ereckson Middle School’s Math and Science Team for top finishes at two state-level academic contests. On March 8, Colin Wei, Ethan Ye, Derek Lin, and Emma Zhu placed first in the team competition at the Texas State MATHCOUNTS Competition. The team also earned second place in the overall sweepstakes at the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) Middle School State Championship in San Antonio.

Zhongren Chen also placed first individually in eighth-grade science.
CyberPatriot Teams Earn National and State Honors
The board recognized Allen High School’s Marine Corps JROTC CyberPatriot teams for their achievements in CyberPatriot XVII competitions. The Alpha Eagles team qualified for the national finals and placed 10th overall out of more than 3,000 teams. Team members are Zong Rui Lee, Maci Siratt, Alex Wang, Andrew Wang, Justin Xie, and Yihang Yu.
Two additional teams also placed at the state level:

Future Educators Receive Statewide Recognition
The board recognized Allen High School students who earned top honors at the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) State Competition. Ashley Brooks and Daniela Adam advanced to the national competition by winning in the Interactive Bulletin Board category. Joseph Diemont also qualified for nationals in the Creative Lecture event.

Finance Department Earns Excellence Award in Financial Reporting
The board recognized the Allen ISD Finance Department for receiving the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award honors the district’s comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, and represents the highest form of recognition in governmental financial reporting.
Leadership Academy Class of 2025 Completes Yearlong Program
The board recognized participants in the Allen ISD Leadership Academy Class of 2025 for completing the district’s yearlong community leadership program. The academy provides citizens with an in-depth understanding of district operations, educational priorities, and student success initiatives.
