The Allen ISD Board of Trustees recently recognized students at their board meeting held on November 18, 2025.
Students Honored for Fine Arts Card Designs
The Board recognized four talented students for creating original artwork selected to represent Allen ISD on official birthday and holiday cards. Each student received a framed copy of their design and a monetary award. The district also recognized Director of Fine Arts Jeff Turner for coordinating the annual contest.
The birthday card, sent from Superintendent Bullock to staff members on their birthday, will feature three student designs:
Katherine Tran, 1st grader from Boon Elementary
Art teacher: Michelle Ewton
Artwork: A cheerful celebration scene featuring a smiling candle, gift, and party horn dancing under a disco ball with musical notes, stars, and confetti filling the background.
Mia Chen, 7th grader from Curtis Middle School
Art teacher: Lindsay Wood
Artwork: A warm and festive birthday setting with wrapped presents in red, green, and blue, colorful balloons, and a bright banner against a rich blue background.
Lucy Dakin, 9th grader from Lowery Freshman Center
Art teacher: Lizzie Grizzle
Artwork: A playful birthday scene with a joyful brown dog sitting beside a half-eaten cake, surrounded by balloons and the message “Happy B-Day!”
The holiday card, sent from the Board of Trustees to community organizations and individuals, was designed by:
Aanya Patel, 5th grader from Vaughan Elementary
Art teacher: Jessyca Glover
Artwork: A watercolor-style ornament filled with colorful leaves and delicate floral patterns, set against a soft green background with the message “Happy Holidays!”
Norton Elementary Students Led the Pledge
Special thanks to students from Norton Elementary who opened the November Board meeting by leading attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge.
