Lindsey Elementary sixth graders spent the morning touring Allen High School. The students heard directly from AHS PALS students to learn what they can expect and look forward to in their high school years. What a neat opportunity for students to begin envisioning their next educational steps!

Allen ISD held its annual Spelling Bee with 11 contestants vying to be the best speller. Students from schools across the district participated in the event held in the STEAM Center’s Ellipse Theater. Preston Elementary’s Olivia Zhang captured first place with Tiana Paneri from Green coming in second. The other top 5 winners were Ethan Bek, third place from Kerr, Kishan Kannan, fourth place from Curtis Middle School, and Daniyal Farishta, fifth place from Boon. Lindsey’s Hansuza Kotte from Lindsey was the alternate. The district also will host the area Spelling Bee in February at Lowery Freshman Center.

Before the Thanksgiving Break, the Allen Philharmonic Symphony put on a performance for fourth graders in Allen ISD at the AHS PAC. The performance featured performances from many Allen ISD students as well!

Allen Police visited Allen ISD Summer Camp this week to teach proper bike safety and play Dodgeball with the students. So much fun!

Summer camp was a blast this week! From princess parties to Pokemon, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

Allen ISD will be closed Monday, May 29, for Memorial Day.
