Allen ISD campuses and offices will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 29. Kids Club will also be canceled.
The difficult decision to cancel class on Thursday comes after a review of roads and sidewalks near schools and our campus parking lots. While main roadways are mostly clear, these other, less-traveled and shaded areas pose a risk to our staff and students. There is also a concern about the ability of school buses to traverse neighborhood streets that remain icy in many areas. It's also important to note that across the 26 square. miles of district boundary, the ice thawed more quickly at some campuses and saw little improvement at other campuses.
