Attendance Matters: Every Day, Every Student.
Regular attendance is one of the most important ways you can support your child’s success at school. Every day your child is here is an opportunity to learn, build relationships, participate in classroom experiences, and make progress toward their goals.
We understand that illness and other circumstances sometimes require students to miss school, but we encourage families to make attendance a priority and avoid unnecessary absences whenever possible.
Please take a moment to review Allen ISD’s attendance policy in the AISD Student Handbook, beginning on page 30, for important information regarding attendance requirements, absences, documentation, and procedures.
Texas law requires students to attend at least 90% of the days a class is offered in order to receive credit or a final grade. This requirement applies even when absences are excused. Students whose attendance falls below 90% may be required to participate in an attendance recovery or make-up plan in order to receive credit or a final grade.
Working together, we can help ensure your child is present, engaged, and ready to learn each day!
