Student journalists representing KGLE 3 Broadcast, the Eagle Yearbook, and the Eagle Angle recently earned significant recognition at the Interscholastic League Press Conference Spring Convention. The awards spanned several categories and highlighted the technical and creative skills of the media staff.
Broadcast Achievements

The broadcast program achieved a first-place finish in the Daily Announcements category for the second consecutive year. Producers Kate Chapman and Ishan Parikh led the production that secured the top spot.

Yearbook Honors

The Eagle Yearbook staff received a first-place award for Photo Portfolio by Thao Nguyen. Additionally, Thao, Grace Nickles, Jaidyn Parks, and Sara Ramos earned an Honorable Mention for their Student Life Spread.
Newspaper Awards

The Eagle Angle newspaper staff also saw success in several individual categories:

National Recognition
In addition to the convention awards, the National Scholastic Press Association recently released its formal critique of the 2025 yearbook. The publication received a First-Class rating with a score of 449 out of 500, placing it among the top student publications in the country. The NSPA also awarded the staff Marks of Distinction in Coverage and Writing and Editing.
"The staff has done an exceptional job of finding new angles to cover the same topics that happen every year," said the NSPA judge. "A solid publication that I am sure was well received by the student body."
