Board Recognitions – April 2025

The Allen ISD Board of Trustees recognized outstanding student, staff, and community accomplishments at the April 2025 board meeting. Honorees included state champions, national competitors, award-winning academic teams, and participants in district and state recognition programs.

Boys Wrestling Wins 15th State Title; Girls Finish Fifth

The board recognized the Allen High School boys and girls wrestling teams for their success at the UIL 6A State Championships. The boys team reclaimed the state title on February 15, scoring 159 points—one ahead of Arlington Martin—to secure the program’s 15th state championship. The girls team finished fifth at the state tournament in Cypress.

Individual state champions:

  • Kailin Sebert – Girls State Champion, 126 lbs.

  • Izayiah Chavez – Boys State Champion, 120 lbs.

  • Cayden Rios – Boys State Champion, 144 lbs.

  • Carter Nekvapil – Boys State Champion, 165 lbs.

  • Aiden Cooley – Boys State Champion, 190 lbs.

Additional state medalists:

  • Grace Romans – 2nd place, 114 lbs.

  • Cayden Campbell – 2nd place, 113 lbs.

  • Jair Jackson-Bey – 3rd place, 138 lbs.

Ereckson Math & Science Team Excels at State Competitions

Ereckson Math & Science Team Excels at State Competitions
The board recognized students from Ereckson Middle School’s Math and Science Team for top finishes at two state-level academic contests. On March 8, Colin Wei, Ethan Ye, Derek Lin, and Emma Zhu placed first in the team competition at the Texas State MATHCOUNTS Competition. The team also earned second place in the overall sweepstakes at the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) Middle School State Championship in San Antonio.

Event results included:

  • Number Sense Team – 4th place: Anwesha Kulkarni, Ethan Ye, Ben Dong, Colin Wei

  • Calculator Team – 3rd place: Sai Raaghav Diwakar, Nathan Hsu, Shreyan Chethan, Adhrit Katgeri

  • General Math Team – 2nd place: Colin Wei, Shreyan Chethan, Ethan Ye, Ben Dong

  • Science Team – 1st place: Zhongren Chen, Vishnu Reddy, Nathan Hsu, Samhita Yellepeddi

Zhongren Chen also placed first individually in eighth-grade science.

CyberPatriot Teams Earn National and State Honors

CyberPatriot Teams Earn National and State Honors

The board recognized Allen High School’s Marine Corps JROTC CyberPatriot teams for their achievements in CyberPatriot XVII competitions. The Alpha Eagles team qualified for the national finals and placed 10th overall out of more than 3,000 teams. Team members are Zong Rui Lee, Maci Siratt, Alex Wang, Andrew Wang, Justin Xie, and Yihang Yu.

Two additional teams also placed at the state level:

  • Charlie Eagles (2nd place): Ismail Iqbal, Nathan Joseph, Manu Kutagula, Prasuna Madasu, Nikhil Patel, Ashray Shah

  • Delta Eagles (3rd place): Rakshit Darji, Barett Fulwiler, Alan Ge, Joel Matthew, Tawqir Quraishi, Jack Slayton

The program is led by Sgt. Maj. Bruce Cole and Gunnery Sgt. Chris Flores.

Future Educators Receive Statewide Recognition

The board recognized Allen High School students who earned top honors at the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) State Competition. Ashley Brooks and Daniela Adam advanced to the national competition by winning in the Interactive Bulletin Board category. Joseph Diemont also qualified for nationals in the Creative Lecture event.

Finance Department Earns Excellence Award in Financial Reporting

The board recognized the Allen ISD Finance Department for receiving the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award honors the district’s comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, and represents the highest form of recognition in governmental financial reporting.
