AHS winners in APTI competition

Film, Broadcast, and Journalism students recently participated in the Association of Texas Photography Instructors Winter Conference, where they attended instructional sessions and competed in onsite contests against peers from across the state.

Students earned multiple top honors in competitive categories.

Film students Larissa Alsing, Taylor Nguyen, and Alma Yahalom received first place in Artistic Video.

Broadcast students Emily Gilliam and Joseph Passarelli earned first place in News Video.

Film students also secured second place in the Big 72 film race, a 72-hour preconference filmmaking competition that challenges teams to conceptualize, produce, and edit a short film within a limited timeframe.

Instructor Kyle Juntunen earned first place in Faculty Digital Image and received an Excellent rating in Faculty Environmental Self Portrait.

The conference provided students with opportunities to develop technical skills, collaborate creatively, and showcase their work in a competitive environment.

Congratulations to the Film, Broadcast, and Journalism students and to Kyle Juntunen for their outstanding achievements at the Association of Texas Photography Instructors Winter Conference.
