Ereckson Middle School is located on Tatum Drive, 1.6 miles west of Highway 75 and 1.5 miles east of Custer Road. The school is 0.3 miles south of McDermott Drive on Tatum.

Thomas Ereckson Middle School, named after a former school board president, opened on August 9, 2004, as the district’s third campus for grades 7-8. Thomas Ereckson graduated from Allen High School in 1947. He served on the Allen ISD Board of Trustees from 1963 to 1973, including seven years as board president. As a trustee, he was instrumental in the integration of Allen public schools in 1964, the creation of the high school band program, the acquisition of land for Rountree Elementary, and the construction of the former administration building. He was known for his financial planning skills, helping the district end a long-running practice of borrowing money to close the budget each year. He was also a charter member of both the Allen Volunteer Fire Department and the Allen Lions Club.
