Auditions for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 25 Middle School Orchestras were held Oct 24th. Students competed for spots in an all-region orchestra against schools from Lovejoy ISD, Plano ISD, Sherman ISD, and Wylie ISD. The students played a series of prepared etudes and musical excerpts for a panel of judges.
Approximately 425 students auditioned for 206 spots. A total of 77 Allen ISD middle school string musicians were selected to one of the all-region orchestras.
These students will combine with other students in the region to rehearse with a guest clinician and perform a concert on Saturday November 7 at the Lowery Freshman Center. This concert is free and open to the public.
