Join Allen ISD for Community Engagement Night and create a roadmap to your best summer yet!

Everyone is invited to take part in an evening focused on planning with purpose. Sessions will highlight ways to strengthen academics, build healthy routines, support key school transitions, encourage digital balance, explore college and career pathways, and introduce financial literacy concepts for students.

Community Engagement Night is designed to equip families with tools, strategies, and practical ideas to support student growth beyond the school year. Attendees will connect with district leaders, campus staff, and community partners while building a plan for a strong and productive summer.

This spring’s focus includes:

  • Academics and summer learning

  • Healthy habits and wellness

  • Supporting your student’s move to middle and high school

  • College and career readiness

  • Summer activities and enrichment

  • Digital balance

  • Financial literacy for students

  • And more

Attendees will have the opportunity to select two sessions during the evening. Session descriptions and presenters will be shared as details are finalized.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.

WHAT’S THE ALLEN ADVANTAGE (SESSION 1 & 2)

Live outside the district and exploring open enrollment? Attend this session to learn how to apply, what to expect, and how Allen ISD supports student growth and success.

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT PANEL (SESSION 1)

Speakers: Middle School Students
Explore the shift from elementary to middle school through insights shared by students. Ask questions and understand key changes and campus supports.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT PANEL (SESSION 2)

Speakers: High School Students
Hear directly from students about navigating the move to high school. Ask questions and learn practical guidance for a smooth transition.

MAKING HEALTHY HABITS AS A FAMILY (SESSION 1 & 2)

Speaker: Children’s Health
Support family health with a practical approach to nutrition. Prepare protein balls and review strategies for making consistent, healthy choices. Space is limited.

DIGITAL DETOX: REFLECT, RESET, AND SET INTENTIONS (SESSION 1 & 2)

Speaker: Dr. Ryan Smith
Examine current technology habits and establish purposeful practices that help create healthier digital routines.

SUMMER SLIDE RESOURCES (DROP IN)

Pick up ready to use resources designed to prevent summer learning loss. Grab activity ideas, tools, and strategies for learning all summer.

MAINTAINING ROUTINES OVER SUMMER (SESSION 1 & 2)

Speaker: Children’s Health
Children benefit from consistent routines. This session shares strategies to maintain structure during summer months and support continued growth.

UNDERSTANDING THE TEEN BRAIN (SESSION 1)

Speaker: Grant Halliburton Foundation
Gain insight into the teen brain and learn ways to better understand and support adolescent development.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES IN ALLEN (SESSION 2)

Speakers: City of Allen and Allen ISD
Learn about programs, events, and activities offered through Allen ISD and the City of Allen for students and families.

INJURY PREVENTION (SESSION 1 & 2)

Speaker: Children’s Health
Safety experts share tips to help keep children safe at home and on the go, including water safety, pedestrian awareness, and vehicle safety.

ENTREPRENEURIAL KIDS: LAUNCH YOUR SUMMER BUSINESS (SESSION 1)

Speakers: Students from the CUTX Student-Run Branch at Allen High School
Students share how to start small summer businesses such as lemonade stands or handmade goods. Learn planning, pricing, and promotion skills.

JOB READY: BUILD SKILLS FOR SUMMER WORK (SESSION 2)

Speaker: Students from the CUTX Student-Run Branch at Allen High School
Learn strategies for landing summer jobs including resume basics, interview preparation, and workplace skills.

YOGA SESSION (SESSION 1 & 2)

(Registration Required: Please bring your own yoga mat.)
Host: City of Allen
Bring a yoga mat and join a guided yoga session focused on stretching, balance, and movement. Capacity limited to 20 participants.

STEAM CENTER TOUR (SESSION 1 & 2)

Host: STEAM Ambassadors
Join student ambassadors for a guided tour of the STEAM Center and explore programs in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
