Allen High School Varsity Mens' Choir Selected for 2027 TMEA Convention

The Allen High School Varsity Men’s Choir, under the direction of Trenton Davis, has been selected as a Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Invited Ensemble and will perform at the 2027 TMEA Clinic & Convention in San Antonio. The selection marks the first time in school history that the AHS Men’s Choir has received the prestigious invitation.

TMEA Invited Ensemble performances highlight the strength of music education across Texas at every level. The Allen High School Varsity Men’s Choir will perform during the convention on Feb. 11th or 12th, 2027, with a specific concert schedule to be announced.

More than 130 middle school, high school and college choirs applied to be selected as an Honor Choir for the 2027 convention, with 14 choirs ultimately receiving invitations. As part of the selection process, each school anonymously submitted recordings from at least two of the three most recent academic years, totaling between 10 and 15 minutes. Proposed performance programs were also considered as part of the selection process.

The recognition continues Allen ISD's long tradition of excellence in choral music and marks another milestone for the district's choir program.

“This selection is an achievement for all of Allen ISD Choir, as this is the third time in school history and the fourth for our district to have an honor choir invited to perform at the TMEA Convention," said Trenton Davis, Allen ISD Director of Choirs. "It’s been a privilege to watch our students each year continue to work and present musical presentations that set them apart."

Congratulations to the Allen High School Varsity Men’s Choir, Mr. Davis and the Allen ISD Choir program on this historic recognition and the opportunity to represent Allen ISD at the 2027 TMEA Clinic & Convention.
