FutureReadyFriday is a highlight of our seniors and their future plans. This highlight is about Maritza Lemus.
Maritza Lemus is a senior at Allen High School involved in JROTC and serves as a Law Intern through the campus practicum program. She credits both experiences with helping her discover her goals and develop confidence. The friendships and mentorship she found in JROTC and her law classes helped shape her high school journey.
Maritza plans to attend Texas Woman’s University to major in Criminal Justice. Her long-term goal is to attend law school and become a family lawyer.
Her favorite memories come from her time in JROTC and the law practicum, where she met supportive peers and instructors who encouraged her to push forward. She says Allen High School taught her how to manage time, work through challenges, and stay focused on what matters.
Her advice to future students is to take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them. She encourages others to build relationships and find the courage to ask for help when needed.
