Hannah Carnley receives her 2nd Lieutenant Bars from her father and sister

Hannah Carnley, a 2019 Allen High School graduate, recently commissioned into the U.S. Air Force as a Second Lieutenant after completing her degree in mechanical engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla.

She has been selected for a pilot slot and will begin training in Mississippi. Her sister, Grace Carnley, a 2020 AHS graduate, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps shortly after high school and now serves as a Sergeant stationed in Hawaii.

The sisters recently shared a proud moment at Hannah’s Air Force commissioning ceremony, saluting each other in uniform — one in Air Force service dress, the other in Marine Corps blue dress uniform D. Their family, including their mother, Dianne Carnley, an English Language Facilitator at Beverly Cheatham Elementary School, participated in the pinning.
