Hiring announcement for Kyle Penn, new assistant superintendent

Allen ISD Names Dr. Kyle Penn as Assistant Superintendent of Business and Technology

Photo portrait of Dr. Kyle PennAllen ISD is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Kyle Penn as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent of Business and Technology. Dr. Penn will oversee all aspects of the district’s financial operations, as well as provide leadership to the Information Technology department. He will succeed Brian Carter, Allen ISD’s Chief Financial Officer, who is retiring from public education after 28 years of service.

Dr. Penn brings a broad range of experience in school business operations, district services, and instructional leadership. He currently serves as Deputy Superintendent and Chief Financial Officer in Prosper ISD, where he oversees Finance, Human Resources, Technology, and District Services.

Prior to his role in Prosper ISD, Dr. Penn served as Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations in both Sunnyvale ISD and Westwood ISD. His leadership has included oversight of business departments, technology, food service, maintenance, transportation, and custodial services. In addition to his administrative work, Dr. Penn has experience in the classroom and at the campus level as a teacher, assistant principal, and associate principal.

Dr. Penn holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University, along with Master’s Degrees in Educational Administration from Texas A&M-Commerce and Arts and Technology from UT-Dallas. He also has experience as an adjunct professor in the College of Education at Dallas Baptist University and at UT-Tyler. He is a frequent contributor and presenter at several statewide organizations, including the Texas Association of School Business Officials and the Texas Association of School Administrators.
