Rithya Cheela, a student at Allen High School, recently traveled to New York City to participate in the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women as a delegate representing Girl Scouts of the USA.
Hosted by the United Nations, the event brings together participants from around the world to discuss issues affecting women and girls.
During the conference, Rithya attended multiple sessions covering public policy, education, and global challenges. She also had opportunities to hear from speakers and connect with delegates representing a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
The experience provided insight into international cooperation and the importance of civic engagement.
