Allen Celebrates Homecoming With 65-7 Win Over Princeton

Allen High School celebrated Homecoming with another dominant performance Friday night, defeating Princeton 65-7 at Eagle Stadium and improving to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in district play.

The Eagles wasted little time taking control of the game, opening the first quarter with a 27-yard touchdown run from Jrue Simmons. The Eagles continued to build their lead throughout the first quarter, including a 24-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Ty Snell to Lyndon Spriggs that made it 21-0.

The Eagles added 30 more in the second, carrying a 51-0 advantage into halftime after finding the end zone seven times in the first two quarters.

Spriggs helped lead the Allen offense with 54 receiving yards and two touchdown catches while adding 56 yards and another touchdown on the ground. KP Jackson also had a big night in the backfield, rushing for 116 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries.

The Eagles were equally effective on the defensive side of the ball. Allen held Princeton scoreless through the first three quarters while forcing multiple turnovers. CJ Fields and Jeremiah Hambric each recorded an interception, while Hova Wilford, Travon Jones and Beckhem Parker each recorded a sack.

The victory came as Allen High School welcomed alumni and community members back to Eagle Stadium for Homecoming, adding another memorable night to the program's undefeated start.

“I’m just so proud of those guys. A great start to the season, 2-0 in district. Couldn’t be prouder of that,” said Head Coach Lee Wiginton. “Anytime you have a homecoming game, you'll have a lot of alumni come back. It’s great to see them, and I hope they’re proud of the way these guys competed on the field and the way they conducted themselves as well.”

With the win, Allen remains undefeated at 5-0 and 2-0 in district play. The Eagles will return to action on Friday, Oct. 9, when they face McKinney High School at Eagle Stadium.
