Allen ISD recognizes staff who exemplify our three district goals, Culture of Excellence, Future Ready Skills and Empowered Learning, in the work they do each and every day, honoring the dedication and collaboration of staff members who work to support student success. Through the Allen ISD Employee Recognition Program, we highlight individuals and teams demonstrating exceptional commitment to their roles.
Technology Teams Recognized for Supporting Campus Renovations and Technology Refreshes
Nelson Orta, Executive Director of Technology, said the recognition reflects the broad collaboration required to support major district projects. The AV, Network and Project Management teams were specifically recognized for their work on campus renovations and technology refreshes, while members of the AV team also partnered with Special Services staff to support new setups and enhanced hearing capabilities in district training rooms and the Board meeting room.
"I want to thank everybody on the team for their dedication, their planning, their output, and for being part of a large operation that is dedicated and laser-focused on readiness for day one of school and beyond," said Orta.
That work was especially visible at Anderson Early Childhood School, which underwent renovations over the summer. Technology staff supported new infrastructure, helped ensure students had iPads to access learning and prepared teacher devices so the campus was ready for the start of school.
"They did so much work to make sure that the campus was set up and ready to go," said Lara Utecht, Principal of Anderson Early Childhood School.
Technology staff also supported a major refresh at the STEAM Center while working around a busy summer schedule that included camps, symposiums and other campus activities. Ashley Crowson, Director of the STEAM Center, recognized the team for remaining flexible and responsive as needs changed.
"The technology team was amazing at being flexible and responsive and willing to adjust at the last minute to meet the needs of this campus," Crowson said.
Together, the projects reflect the planning, collaboration and adaptability required to keep campuses and district spaces ready to support students and staff.
