The 2026-2027 Allen ISD Leadership Academy cohort recently began their seven-month journey designed to provide an inside look at the district.
During the first meeting, participants heard from Acting Superintendent Kim McLaughlin, members of the Allen ISD Board of Trustees, and representatives from the Foundation For Allen Schools. The group also traveled to Boyd Elementary School, where Principal Julie DeLeon shared what students and staff are accomplishing across the campus.
The Allen ISD Leadership Academy gives community members a look at how a school district serving 20,000 students and nearly 3,000 employees operates. Participants meet once a month for seven months to explore schools, programs, departments, and district operations.
Throughout the academy, participants tour campuses across each grade level and meet with principals, students, Board members, and district administrators. Sessions highlight how teams across Allen ISD work together to support students and district goals.
Graduates become part of a network of informed community members who may support future district planning efforts. Opportunities can include strategic planning, campus and district improvement teams, focus groups, and other committees.
Through the Leadership Academy, Allen ISD continues building connections between schools and the community while sharing the work that supports student success.
