A total of 56 Allen ISD string players recently earned seats in the TMEA Region 25 High School Orchestras. Thirty students also advanced to the next round of Texas Music Educators Association All-State competition.
Approximately 490 students auditioned for 168 spots on Oct. 3. Allen ISD musicians competed alongside students from Lovejoy, Plano, Sherman, and Wylie ISDs. Each student performed prepared etudes and musical excerpts for a panel of judges.
Students from Allen High School and Lowery Freshman Center earned places in the Philharmonic and Symphony orchestras. The selections recognized student achievement and provided opportunities to continue growing as musicians.
The selected musicians will join students from across the region to rehearse with a guest clinician. A concert will follow on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2026, at Plano ISD’s Robinson Fine Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.
