Meet Mrs. Arnold, a first-year fourth-grade teacher at Chandler Elementary. As a student, Mrs. Arnold attended various Allen ISD campuses, where a calling to become an educator began.
“It was always my dream and my plan to come back to Allen,” said Mrs. Arnold. “This is the place where I wanted to become a teacher.”
As an educator, Mrs. Arnold finds inspiration in the lessons and memories of former teachers.
“I had an amazing fifth grade teacher, his name was Mr. Jordan,” said Mrs. Arnold. “He really just inspired me to love history and I really think that is a big reason I decided to become a social studies teacher.”

Going from an Allen ISD student to an educator, Mrs. Arnold has had the opportunity to connect with former teachers.
“The best part is we have professional development days where I get to see former teachers... and it’s really cool to be unified in the goal of getting to educate the next generation,” said Mrs. Arnold.

As a first-year teacher, Mrs. Arnold enjoys teaching and getting to know students.
“Getting to watch their eyes light up when they finally get a concept, and getting to give them hugs when they come in, in the morning,” said Mrs. Arnold. “That is like the best part of my day.”
At the end of the school day, Mrs. Arnold hopes to have a lasting impact on students.
“All I want is for them to feel loved,” said Mrs. Arnold. “I want them to learn; I think that's always an important goal, but more than that I want them to feel that they were able to come to school and that they had somebody who cared for them and believed in them.”
