Graphic design and interior design students from Allen High School brought their creativity into the community this spring through a new partnership with the Allen Arts Alliance. As part of the collaboration, students in Jami Dixon’s graphic design class created advertising materials for the 17th Annual Art Festival, held May 9–11 at Watters Creek Village.
The student team produced four poster designs, a featured graphic for Local Profile and Living Magazine (Allen edition), and digital banners for use on social media and billboards. Their work provided real-world advertising support while showcasing their design skills and creative talent.
At the same time, interior design students helped prepare the Blue House Gallery for its grand opening on the first night of the festival. This hands-on experience allowed students to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting while contributing to a community event.
“The results of this initial collaborative effort were remarkable,” said Wendy McIntyre, executive director of the Allen Arts Alliance. “It fosters creativity and engagement among students and enhances our local arts community.”
The partnership supported future-ready learning through authentic, real-world projects that strengthened both student growth and community engagement. Plans are in place to continue the collaboration into the next school year.
