Allen ISD, the Allen Economic Development Corporation, and the Allen Chamber of Commerce recently partnered to host Gears and Careers, a hands-on career exploration event. The event welcomed students in grades 7–12, families, educators, and community members to connect with employers to discover opportunities in high-demand career fields.
Timed with National Manufacturing Day, the event spotlighted a wide range of industries supported by Allen ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Attendees explored exhibits and demonstrations in fields such as engineering, information technology, healthcare, culinary arts, law enforcement, business, finance, and more.
The evening featured interactive opportunities for students to engage directly with professionals, ask questions, and gain insight into local career pathways and employment opportunities.
Through Allen ISD’s CTE programs, students have opportunities to gain access to hands-on learning and certifications that build connections between classroom instruction and future success. Gears and Careers highlighted these careers while also serving as a bridge between education and industry partners.
The event reflects Allen ISD’s commitment to empowering students as learners, preparing them with future-ready skills, and cultivating a culture of excellence through meaningful community partnerships.
