About the Allen ISD Leadership Academy
The Allen ISD Leadership Academy is designed to provide community participants a comprehensive overview of the school district by campus and district leadership.
The structure of Allen ISD Leadership Academy is a full day, once-a-month workshop for seven months. Participants will tour campuses, hear from principals, interact with students via Q&A panels, and meet School Board members. District administrators will provide presentations about their departments and how they work to support the overall goals of Allen ISD. The cohort will also be tasked with completing a specific volunteer project to support Allen ISD.
The cohort will not visit every campus, however, it will visit every grade-band level (example: the early childhood school, two elementary schools, one middle school, the freshman center and the high school).
The goal of the program is to engage with our community and provide educational resources about the operations of running a school district with 21,000 students and nearly 3,000 employees.
The academy culminates in recognition of the program graduates at a Board of Trustees meeting. Those graduates will then be included in a database of community members who may be called upon to support the district's efforts to include informed, interested community members in strategic planning, district and campus improvement teams, focus groups, and other planning committees.
